Participants train directly on HPO.TECH systems, explore the production process, interact with the latest chamber models, and prepare for an IBUM-accredited certification pathway in a real-world operational environment.
Earn your official IBUM Certification
Independent examination. Internationally recognized credential.
The HPO.TECH training experience prepares participants for the next step: the official IBUM certification examination. Taken independently through ibum.org, this third-party assessment evaluates the knowledge and competencies required for certification.
Participants who successfully pass the exam receive their official IBUM credential, recognized within the hyperbaric and diving medicine community.
The examination fee is $200 and is paid directly to IBUM.

Hyperbaric Chamber Operator / Intermediate Hyperbaric Technician (IHT)
This pathway is designed for professionals who want to safely operate hyperbaric chambers and support patient protection during treatment.
Candidates must meet the healthcare, first responder, or medical-director-approved prerequisite. At minimum, candidates must be CPR/AED qualified and have initial first responder training or equivalent.
As an IHT, your responsibility includes safe chamber operation, pre-treatment chamber checks, chamber monitoring during routine and emergency treatments, patient status observation, and safe decompression procedures according to established protocols.
You will also learn how to educate patients, support injury prevention, explain pressurization and decompression, guide equalization techniques, and recognize early signs of barotrauma or oxygen toxicity.

Functional Medicine Hyperbaric Clinician (FMGH)
This pathway is designed for licensed healthcare providers who want to integrate hyperbaric oxygen therapy into a functional, root-cause approach to patient care.
Candidates must hold ND, DC, MD, DO, NP or ARNP, PA, or board-approved equivalent credentials.
The FMHC is a licensed clinician who evaluates patients, identifies underlying physiological imbalances, and develops individualized treatment plans that may include hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
This role requires an active, independent clinical license. All clinical decisions, including the prescription and oversight of HBOT, must remain within the legal scope of the clinician’s primary professional license.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants become eligible to sit for the examination required for IBUM-accredited certification, based on their selected training pathway and eligibility requirements. This certification validates competency in hyperbaric operations, safety, and clinical practice.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
Accommodation & Transportation
Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel, local transportation, and accommodation expenses. HPO.TECH will be pleased to provide recommended hotel options and logistical guidance to assist with planning your stay in Istanbul.
IBUM Examination & Certification
Successful completion of the factory training program qualifies participants to sit for the official IBUM certification examination. The examination fee is administered separately by IBUM and is currently listed at $200 on the IBUM website.
Participation in the training program does not guarantee a passing examination result. Training fees do not include examination fees, certification fees, or any fees associated with examination retakes.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations submitted at least 3 days prior to the program start date are eligible for a partial refund, less a $500 administrative fee.
Cancellations made within 2 days of the program start date are non-refundable. However, participants may transfer their registration to a future training session, subject to availability and approval by HPO.TECH.

Known worldwide as “Dr. Deep Sea,” Dr. Joseph Dituri is a retired U.S. Navy Commander, biomedical engineer, hyperbaric researcher, author, and educator. With more than three decades of experience in saturation diving, life-support systems, undersea engineering, and hyperbaric medicine, he is one of the field’s most recognized voices.
Dr. Dituri is the author of The Art and Science of Hyperbaric Medicine, an Associate Professor of Medical Engineering at the University of South Florida, and the Guinness World Record holder for Project Neptune 100, during which he spent 100 consecutive days underwater conducting hyperbaric research. Through his teaching, research, and certification programs, he continues to advance education, safety, and innovation in hyperbaric medicine worldwide.
